The sparkly Sally has everything it takes to win her first world title in 2012: an exceptional shape, a steely motivation, and comprehensive and incisive surfing.
With three victories on the elite circuit last year and an exciting neck-and-neck race with Carissa Moore, Sally has made a meteoric start of 2012 season.
Third at the Roxy Pro Gold Coast despite a wrist injury (she surfed with a splint), the surfer from Gerroa had her first win of the season on the elite tour against Steph Gilmore in the final at Bells Beach, writing her name for the second straight time on the iconic Australian bell.
Her recent victory at the World Tour event in Rio against Coco Ho allows her to stay in the title race. All indications are that the Roxy girl is one of the big favourites for victory at the Roxy Pro Biarritz and for the 2012 world crown.
A fan of football and tennis, disciplines at which she also excelled as a youngster, she remains one of the most open and endearing women on tour.
